Synopsis | In 1972, the International Railway Union commemorated its 50th anniversary. To celebrate this occasion, they released InterRail, a rail pass valid for one month in 21 countries available to travelers up to 21 years of age. Nearly 5000 Europeans explored Europe by train on that single summer and this one-time adventure was continued in the years to come, establishing itself as “the thing to do” for any European youngster, developing into a unique traveling trend, with its own sub-culture and following. In this documentary, we dont only travel in Europe by train, but also in time, meeting veteran InterRailers who share their memories to a younger generation that testify InterRails contribution to the establishment of an European identity, its unification and multicultural integration, along its significant peace building role over the past four decades. |
